NONFICTION BOOK REVIEW #2020-015 - When God Promises: Taking God at His Word will Free You from Worry, Stress, and Fear

PROMISES MADE – PROMISES KEPT

This year I’ve promised that I’ll outdo myself in regards to the amount of nonfiction Christian books that I’m going to read/review, I made this promise to myself and the Lord. Last year, 118 of the 263 [about 45%] books I had read/reviewed were for books belonging to this genre; so far this year, the count is 13 out of the 17 [about 76.5%] I’ve done are nonfiction Christian books. There’s a marvelous sense of fulfillment one feels when they make a promise evoking the Lord’s name, and they keep; since they’ve not made it in vain.

After reading/reviewing as many nonfiction Christians books I’ve done, you come away with the knowledge that you shouldn’t question the Lord, as the author, Julie McCoy, has done for the beginning of her description for this book.

In the six-week Bible study, Ms. Coy has written for this book; readers will coming away knowing that the Lord does what He says He’ll do, although it might not seem to be that way at first.

How Ms. McCoy has written this book, gives her readers a sense of being a child in Sunday School by first “hearing” a story of a biblical individual’s learning experience of encountering what happens when you realize the Lord’s commitment in keeping His word. You’ll come away in trusting His devotion what He has promised in transforming your lives from one of anxiety, apprehension, and distress to one that is free of all concerns.

By reading and interacting with the instructions given within each chapter [lesson] slowly and meticulously through meditation, readers will obtain the knowledge and intention of that chapter. Growing up as a child, you’ve realized that education is one thing and fully understanding that learning takes time to reach its full potential, which is why this book shouldn’t be rushed through by skimming it.

For wanting her readers to increase their relationships with the Lord by learning that He keeps the promises He has made to them, being the reviewer of nonfiction Christian books that I’ve become, I glad to give Ms. McCoy the 5 STARS she deserves.
