Tomorrow
is Holy Thursday and according to Wikipedia it is the Christian holy day
falling on the Thursday before Easter. It commemorates the Washing of the Feet (Maundy) and Last Supper
of Jesus Christ
with the Apostles, as described in the canonical
gospel, and marks the end of Lent. And since there is no church
services available anywhere due the COVID-19 virus, I’d to take everyone back
to Ash Wednesday, Ash Wednesday the Christian holy day of prayer and fasting
and which is preceded by Shrove Tuesday and falls on the first day of Lent, the
six weeks of penitence before Easter. And in doing so I’d like to offer everyone
this “special” set of scripture for everyone to meditate/reflect on:
Always
be humble and gentle. Patiently put up with each other and love each other. EPHESIANS 4:12 [Contemporary English
Version = CEV]
Speaking
to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making
melody in your heart to the Lord, EPHESIANS 5:19 [NKJV]
Have
you suffered so many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain? GALATIANS
3:4 [NKJV]
When
I see the rainbow in the sky, I will always remember the promise that I have
made to every living creature. GENESIS 9:16 [CEV]
Everyone
was amazed and praised God. What they saw surprised them, and they said,
"We have seen a great miracle today!" LUKE 5:16 [CEV]
Don't
mistreat someone who has mistreated you. But try to earn the respect of others,
ROMANS 12:17 [CEV]
Never
give up. Eagerly follow the Holy Spirit and serve the Lord. ROMANS 12:11 [CEV]
Everyone
who heard about this wondered what this child would grow up to be. They knew
the Lord was with him. LUKE 1:66 [CEV]
Salvation
belongs to the LORD. Your blessing is upon Your people. Selah PSALM
3:8 [NKJV]
Do
not listen to that prophet's words or to that dreamer. For the LORD your God is
testing you to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and
all your soul. DEUTERONOMY 13:3
[Christian Standard Bible]
Always
be humble and gentle. Patiently put up with each other and love each other. ESPHESIANS
4:2 [CEV]
You
are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.
MATTHEW 5:14 [NKJV]
